Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is funding allocated by the government that the school receives in addition to its delegated budget for children from low income families eligible for free school meals (£1,300, £300 for those who attend Nursery); those who are looked after (£1,900); children from Forces families (£300) or those who have been adopted from care (£1,900).

In making provision for disadvantaged learners, we recognise that not all children who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged and that not all those who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. The school allocates Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils we have legitimately identified as being in need of intervention and support. Pupil Premium funding has been allocated following a needs analysis which has identified priority classes, groups and individuals.

Pupil Premium is used to raise attainment, promote social skills and accelerate progress through the development of independent learning strategies and positive behaviour.

  1. To increase the percentage of pupils working at or above age related expectations in Reading, Writing and Maths.
  2. To narrow the gap in progress and attainment between our Pupil Premium children and their peers.

The document below contains details of our strategy for meeting the needs of pupils for whom the school receives Pupil Premium funding.  This includes our plans for the current academic year and a review of how the funding was used in the previous year.

The impact of the Pupil Premium Plan is evaluated termly and Reviewed annually as part of School Improvement Planning cycle.
